Happy Thanksgiving!Year after year, no matter how many times we tell ourselves that we'll organize away Thanksgiving chaos, stress somehow manages to weasel its way in. Hostess or guest, there is always so much to do, like meal prep, gifts, RSVPs and of course, outfits. Today I’m offering to take the stress out of one thing - the outfit!
If there's one thing I'm a sucker for it's a classic with a twist (OK, it is any style with a twist). Honestly, I think the reason I love classic pieces so much is because they give me what seems like a highly legitimate excuse to recycle and reuse outfits. With the weather getting slightly chilly and winter slowly setting in, I want to savour the last few days of fall. What better way to do that than a classic fall outfit for Thanksgiving lunch!
I am wearing a classic button maxi with a collar. This dress reminds me of the 90’s style on Friends. I see it and I think that Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe would all style this differently, but pull it off very well nonetheless. I am, however, styling this my own way. I am wearing this dress with a darker, long sweater jacket, deep red hat, wearing my hair down, adding a pair of heeled ankle boots, and coloring my lips dark to finish the look. The hat really adds the right amount of drama to take the classic look up a notch while the monochrome sweater, lip color and hair simply bring a subtle twist.
Classic, chic, and comfy enough to rock from Thanksgiving workwear to Thanksgiving lunch / dinner. I'm pretty sure this is my new go-to combo for lazy days that involve social gatherings. So many things I am grateful for but most of all for my lovely family and friends! <3
